Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I am Dr. Jong-Soo Woo from Dong-A University College of Medicine. I am greatly honored that you gave me a chance to work for Korean society for Cardiovascular and thoracic surgery as the president in the 2011. I cordially appreciate the dedication and endeavor of the former president and his associates for the improvement and application of appropriate medical cost rating and insurance coverage for the benefit of local surgeons as well as attending surgeons of general hospitals. I am glad that I can say that their effort has already made great differences for our members. At this time, I would do my best with my coworkers to proceed for the problems still remained to be solved such as trending down of the surgery as a treatment tool, inactivation of local clinics for solo and group practices, lack of training house staffs. Establishment of the future direction and role of the chest surgeons is also an important assignment to be worked out. But I believe if we cooperate strongly with one another, we will be able to overcome these obstacles we are facing right now.
I heartily wish you all a wonderful 2011, full of happiness and health with your families, as well as great progress in your professional career.
